The Song of India prefers bright, indirect light, but can survive in lower lighted rooms as well.

Water your song of india thoroughly, and then wait until the top 50-75% of the soil is dry. Overwatering your plant will cause root rot which will kill your plant.

Regular household humidity will be fine for the dracaena, but it will appreciate a good misting every once in a while!

The foliage is toxic to pets and humans, so be sure to keep it out of reach!

With dracaena, be on the lookout for a common issue called ‘tipping.’ This happens when the tips of the leaves dry out and turn brown. This can be caused by a variety of issues, most commonly overwatering or fertilizer burn. Most of the time, the cause of tipping is actually the water you’re using! Salts, chlorine, fluoride, and other elements that found in tap water can be harmful if they build up in the soil. If you do not have a filtration system, leaving the tap water in an open container (like a cup or a watering can) overnight will help remove some of the chlorine or fluoride!
