a little about me…

the maranta "lemon lime" is native to rainforests of central and south america.  Commonly known as the "prayer plant", the leaves open in the sun and close at night, mimicking hands coming together in prayer.  she's a bit sensitive, so be sure to keep it in a room that doesn't have high temperature fluctuations and keep it away from drafts (such as vents).  the silver band has leaves that are patterned with silver and green, giving it a beautiful textural look.

the maranta  will grow best with medium to bright indirect light. direct sunlight will burn its leaves!

keep your lemon lime's soil moist, but never soggy.  maranta enjoy high humidity, and there are a few ways to achieve this. your plant will enjoy being misted, placed on a pebble tray, or placed near a humidifier!

*if you notice a yellowing tip or edge burn, especially on older leaves, it is most likely due to your tap water. to solve this, allow your tap water to stand overnight before watering so the chlorine and fluoride can evaporate. once your leaf turns brown/yellow, remove it with clean shears or scissors to keep your plant healthy. although sad, removing dead/dying leaves will help your plant focus its energy on growing new leaves!

this plant is non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans!
